Everything starts here.

Through a series of roughly 12 weekly meetings, incoming interns will learn the history of the station, programming skills & etiquette, meet the station’s directors, and participate in various role-playing activities to learn the makings of a good DJ. Interns will also be required attend a weekly show of their choice, where they will meet existing DJ’s who will guide them the process of programming first-hand. Along with the weekly meetings and show attendance, interns will also be encouraged to attend various events that WUML holds on campus. The process will end with a verbal and written test, and upon passing, the interns will become DJs—free to start shows of their own.

We are a student-run organization, and we understand that the time commitment can be difficult to make as we all juggle various responsibilities each semester. With that said, we promise that the time and effort you put into WUML will reward you in the long run. There are many opportunities open to our DJs—chances to meet and interview local artists, free concert tickets, press passes, UML sports-broadcasting, and most importantly, you will meet tons of great people who share a love for music and radio. We hope you’ll join!
